A trekker who set out to raise the standard
Sean Burgess, Impact Kilimanjaro’s founder, didn’t plan to build a company, instead he started as a trekker almost a decade ago. Climbing Kilimanjaro himself, he saw first-hand how much the standard of guiding, safety, and support could be improved. So he set out to change it, not just by leading climbs himself, but building a team capable of delivering that same standard, climb after climb.
That mission turned Sean into one of the top international mountain leaders on Kilimanjaro, personally guiding hundreds of climbers to the summit. But the real achievement is the Tanzanian team he’s spent years building and training, the same team behind every expedition today, whether it’s a charity climb, a corporate group, a school trip, or Sean’s own Founder’s Trips.
